Post-EMBA Graduate Certificate Program

Graduates desiring a more formal complement to their Executive MBA may take advantage of the Post-EMBA Graduate Certificate Program. This program is designed to build on the current EMBA by providing additional depth in a particular field of interest. Alumni may design their own certificate program with an advisor or take a pre-packaged certificate from those available in international business, marketing, information systems, HRM, accounting and other areas.

Per-Anders Hallqvist , EMBA alumnus from the class of 1999 and President of Patria Hagglunds, North America, decided to return to GW to get his Post-EMBA Graduate Certificate. He had just been promoted to a new position and was given the opportunity to turn around some failing business units within his company. Hallqvist said, “I needed to gain some specific knowledge in the business turnaround area. The GW EMBA Graduate Certificate Program offered the perfect way for me to accomplish this. I was able to design the graduate certificate, with the help of Dr. Dyer and Dr. Lenn, to meet my particular needs in the business turnaround field.”

How can the certificate benefit you?

•  Gain additional depth in a particular field of study

•  Update your GW EMBA and receive a certificate by taking only 8 credits

•  Finish a graduate certificate at half the price in a third less time.

•  Design your certificate program with an advisor or take a pre-packaged certificate from ones available in international business, marketing, information systems, HRM, accounting, and other areas

•  Take elective or new courses in the current GW Executive MBA Program

•  Fit courses into your schedule or do one of the courses as an independent study or directed readings and research project with a specific faculty member.

•  Pay only 50% of the on-campus credit-hour charge for coursework. For example, if the program cost is 8 credits X $425 (if current graduate rate is $850 per credit) equals $3,400. Add about $300 for books for a total cost of approximately $3700.

•  Receive a formal certificate suitable for framing
